Guild was started in NY in 1952 by Alfred Dronge, a professional guitarist and music store owner, and George Mann, a one-time Epiphone exec, with a team of mainly ex-Epiphone workers. Note the similarity between the V-markers (fretboard markers) on Epiphone and Guild!
Guild was reloacted from NYC to Hoboken New Jersy in 1956, it was bought by Fender in 1995.
